Design and development of SS'14 collection for a contemporary celebrity brand, incorporating the artist's personal style through statement pieces and creating recognition value through selected design elements.
Design process from mood, material and color concept, over first sketch to final techpack. Fitting of proto samples and communication of design comments until pre-production stage.
Objective
The cornerstone for the SS'14 collection became a vintage military jumpsuit, an item from the artist's personal wardrobe. The utilitarian details as shoulder epaulettes, cargo pockets and metal zips became the main elements throughout the whole collection, from cargo pants and staple jackets right up to the more feminine pieces as silk maxi dresses and relaxed silk tops. Brushstroke checks and bold floral prints clash with architectural cuts , silk viscose trousers and blouses are toughened up with hardware accents, while a capsule in a bright orange double crepe material is adding a pop of color to the line.
